An excerpt from Chapter Two - Opinions are like A..Holes!
"……And, everybody has one. Have you ever noticed that? It doesn’t matter what you do or say, somebody will step up to announce an opinion about it. Sometimes people you don’t even know want to throw their two cents in, whether you asked for it or not. But, most of the time the “this is what I think” speeches come from the people closest to you. And, if you are lucky enough to have super supportive families, spouses and friends, then get down on your knees and thank whatever you believe in, because it is very rare.
And, when you are done sending gratitude to your particular deity, you have my permission to skip to the next chapter. But, as for the rest of us, we have to deal with less-than-encouraging diatribes.
Almost every opinion that you receive will be in direct opposition to yours. And, family members especially will claim that they are telling you this “for your own good”. They are just trying to “protect you”. Whatever the well-meaning excuse is, it doesn’t matter. The only opinion that matters about anything concerning your life is your own. That sentence alone, if taken to heart, will save you from much suffering."
